Lehigh University alumnus Orapong Thien-Ngern '84 MS '87 MBA was named Executive Committee Chairman of Digital Ventures earlier this month. The Bangkok, Thailand-based Digital Ventures is a financial technology investment and development division of Siam Commercial Bank.
 
In his new role at Digital Ventures, Thien-Ngern will look to work with start-up companies that show the potentials to help Siam Commercial Bank advance further into the world of digital banking in Thailand. He'll also work with existing banking institutions with in an effort to improve on an already strong customer experience.
 
Prior to joining Digital Ventures, Thien-Ngern served as General Manager of Microsoft's Thailand region, where he helped organizations upgrade their security through the adaptation of the company's latest technology.
 
Before working at Microsoft, he spent 16 years with worldwide management consulting firm Accenture as Managing Director of the companies Thailand operations. He worked also with The Iacocca Institute, Boeing and Caterpillar before moving on to Accenture and Microsoft.
 
Thien-Ngern earned his masters both in manufacturing systems engineering and business administration at Lehigh. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, Bangkok.
