Lehigh's Master of Science (M.S.) in Data Science allows students from a wide range of backgrounds to gain the qualifications necessary to tap into the wealth of data science jobs, many of which require an advanced degree. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects jobs in the field to grow more than 30 percent between 2020 and 2030.
Lehigh's Data Science program provides access to the skills and tools of data science to people who want to develop that skillset, even if they don't have a background in computer science or statistics. Prospective students need a strong foundation in math and some basic training in computer science, but no prior data science coursework is required. Classes will be taught in a hybrid (both in-person and remote) format.
Lehigh also offers a Graduate Certificate in Data Science that provides students with an introduction to the basic concepts and tools in data science. Individuals completing this program will be better positioned to understand and explore the application of data scientific concepts and methodologies in a variety of domains, or pursue more advanced training in Data Science or a field that requires a data scientific skillset.
