From cybersecurity to health and healthcare, from marketing analytics to risk analysis, computing and data science are pervasive. They are transforming discovery and innovation in our economy, our society, our culture, our habits—and how we best prepare students for the future.
Data science is an interdisciplinary field in which a host of mathematical and computational techniques are used to extract information from data, and subsequently used to make informed decisions. Career opportunities are vast and growing everyday in this exciting, applied field of study.
Lehigh's Master of Science in Data Science is a program designed for students and working professionals who are interested in gaining new skills in data science. The program is interdisciplinary and flexible, attracting students from all fields and domains where data science skills can create career opportunities and impact. Prospective students need a strong foundation in math (like calculus and linear algebra) and some basic training in computer science (typical for many undergraduate STEM degrees, as well as for some business-related majors), but no prior data science coursework is required. Classes will be taught in a hybrid (both in-person and remote) format to accommodate full-time students—including those who want to complete the 30-credit master’s degree over 12 months—as well as professionals already on the career path who want to study part time.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions about the program!
