Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is one of Lehigh's original programs, and traces its proud heritage back to the very earliest days of our institution.

Throughout its history, our department has evolved along with the latest and most impactful techniques, approaches, and technologies of our field. Lehigh Chemical Engineers continue to embrace an entrepreneurial culture that produces thinkers, leaders and collaborators that thrive among the challenges of research and practice in chemical engineering.

Our globally recognized faculty, working alongside Lehigh graduate and undergraduate students as well as colleagues from governmental agencies, industry, and academia, address some of the most technologically challenging issues of the day. Active projects include interdisciplinary approaches to challenges in areas related to energy, biotechnology, polymeric materials, and "green" chemical processing and catalysis. Our Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering undergraduate program, accredited by the Engineering Commission of ABET, produces graduates that build upon the rigor of a Lehigh education and the many eye-opening experiential learning opportunities available on our campus. Our engaged network of alumni leads change across our industry, and around the world.
