Lehigh engineering encourages its students to be competent in a discipline while getting as broad an education as possible. Technical minors allow engineering students to enhance their studies and to explore emerging technologies.

The ChBE department offers minors in two areas -- a minor in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and a minor in Biotechnology.

A technical minor in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering gives Lehigh students both bio-molecular and chemical engineering knowledge that they do not acquire in their major, widening their skills and helping to increase cooperation between the disciplines, which will lead to increased possibilities for employment.

The technical minor in Biotechnology is for students showing an interest in topics including the biochemical processes, genetic engineering, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, medical devices, metabolic engineering, and associated areas.
