Objective
At the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics, we take great pride in preparing our students to be leaders in the development and application of technology to better serve society. The objective of the undergraduate education program is to provide students with the background knowledge and skills they will need to function in an engineering environment, pursue graduate studies, continue their professional development, and establish an awareness of the culture and society in which we live.
Mechanical engineering is the broadest area of engineering, and our department prepares students for careers in industries as diverse as aerospace, transportation, bioengineering, communications, electronics, computers, energy, environment, machinery, and manufacturing, among others. Our curriculum integrates engineering sciences with engineering practice, by maintaining a strong focus both on theoretical computation and hands-on experience.
