Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Computer-Aided Design (CAD) / Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) / Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Labs are the flagship computing labs at Lehigh University. It makes available state-of-the-art engineering workstations, operates 24/7, 365 days and is secured with LU ID card swipe access and video surveillance. 

The Labs are a critical undergraduate and graduate teaching and research resource that is touched by every student in Mechanical Engineering. There are 52 HP Z4 workstations with the following configuration:

  1. Intel Xeon class 4-core 4.0Ghz CPU

  2. 32GB DDR4 ECC Registered Memory

  3. NVIDIA Quadro P2000 5GB GPU

  4. 512GB NVMe SSD

  5. HP Z27n G2 27" Display

The application catalog currently installed in the CAD Labs include:

Our Citrix infrastructure that powers the LUapps platform enables remote access to workstation-class performance for MEM students from any device, at any time, from anywhere.
