Open Rank Search in Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science at Lehigh University invites applications for tenure-track faculty at the ranks of assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor. Tenure on appointment is possible for senior candidates. Outstanding candidates in all areas of computer science will be considered. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field prior to the official start of employment.

We seek candidates who will develop strong research programs, contribute to our educational mission, augment or complement our existing strengths, and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Applicants should demonstrate an outstanding record of research and scholarship, and a clear commitment to students and learning. Successful candidates must also be committed to the enhancement of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment in which world-class faculty, staff, and students can thrive to their full potential. We particularly encourage applications from members of groups underrepresented in computing.

The CSE Department currently has 18 tenured and tenure-track professors and 8 instructional faculty, with strengths in systems, robotics, human-centered computing, data science and AI. CSE faculty include fellows of the ACM, IEEE, NAI, and the Humboldt Foundation, several NSF CAREER award winners and a former program officer of the National Science Foundation. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty in ongoing research projects including those associated with Lehigh's interdisciplinary research institutes, such as the Institute for Data, Intelligent Systems, and Computation (http://idisc.lehigh.edu/).

The Department offers Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science. All of our B.S. programs are fully accredited, including the unique B.S. in Computer Science and Business program which is accredited both in computer science and in business. Our undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. programs are vibrant and growing, supporting approximately 500 students. The Department is housed in a recently renovated building on the Lehigh Mountaintop Campus, with beautiful views of the surrounding area. The building includes several high-bays, one of which is configured to house the Robotics Lab.
