Ed Blair is President of Lutron Electronics, the global leader in lighting controls, automated shading solutions, and intelligent lighting fixtures. He is responsible for the company’s global operations, with overall responsibility for achieving sales, profits, and balance sheet objectives. He also serves on Lutron’s Board of Directors.

Ed is a results-oriented, proven business leader who possesses a vision for innovation, a strong drive to develop and grow new areas of business, and a special talent for leading highly effective, results-driven teams and individuals.  He is an accomplished inventor with more than 60 U.S. patents in the areas of design, utility, and system development.

His 26-year Lutron career has spanned numerous assignments and departments, including engineering, human resources, sales, and marketing. This experience prepared him for several senior leadership roles including Vice-President and General Manager of the Commercial Systems and Window Systems Business Units, Senior Vice-President of the Residential Systems Business Unit, and Executive Vice-President.

Ed’s solid engineering, technical, and operations background, combined with strong business acumen and strategic vision, resulted in success at all levels of the organization. Most notably, as President, Ed led Lutron to its two best years of sales growth in the company’s 61-year history. In addition, he orchestrated Lutron’s 2018 acquisition of Austin, Texas-based Ketra, the leading manufacturer of human-centric lighting systems, making history as only the second acquisition in Lutron’s history.

He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (1996) and MBA (2002) from Lehigh University. An active member of his community, Ed passionately helps young people develop themselves through the benefits of sports and competition, and over the past 14 years, has coached flag football, basketball, baseball, and softball. Additionally, he served on Lehigh University’s Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board and the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation’s Gala in the Garden board. He currently serves on Lehigh University’s Dean’s Advisory Council and MBA Advisory Council, and on the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Board of Directors.  

He and his wife, Christine, have three children.
