David C. Angstadt has served as a professor of practice in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics since 2009 and served as Associate Chair for the Department. His professional background includes 11 years of industry experience in textile and chemical manufacturing. He has served as a project/environmental engineer and as a plant engineer, and has provided professional consulting services to BMW, Milliken, Sonoco, and other firms.

Prior to his appointment to the Lehigh faculty, he spent four years as an assistant professor at Clemson University in South Carolina. He has taught courses in statics, dynamics, kinematics, strength of materials and manufacturing processes at both Clemson and Lehigh, and is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SPE).
