Dr. Glenn Balbus is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Lehigh University. His current research leverages advanced characterization techniques and nanomechanical testing to investigate the role of interfaces in controlling the properties of nanostructured and refractory metals, and develop novel manufacturing processes for these materials.
Prior to joining Lehigh in 2023, Dr. Balbus was an National Research Council postdoctoral fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (WPAFB, OH). He received his Ph.D in Materials from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
