Mechanical engineering alum has held numerous leadership roles in 23-year career at smart control manufacturer

Mechanical engineering alumnus Ed Blair '96 has been appointed co-president of Lutron Electronics, the provider of smart lighting and shading control systems announced July 12.

Blair and colleague Ramin Mehrganpour are taking on the role after previously serving as executive vice-presidents of the Coopersburg, Pa.-based company. Lehigh alum Mike Pessina '96 MBA, who previously held the post, will continue his 43-year-career with the company as Lutron’s co-chief executive officer, alongside co-CEO Susan Hakkarainen. 

A 23-year Lutron employee, Blair has held leadership positions within all of Lutron’s business units. His past roles include VP and general manager of Lutron’s office of business development, the commercial systems business unit and the window systems business unit and senior VP of the residential systems business unit. Blair lead Lutron’s 2018 acquisition of Ketra, which provides residential and commercial LED lighting solutions.
