Financial Services Forum on Oct. 19 sheds light on investment banking, wealth management, FinTech

The Lehigh Wall Street Council invites Lehigh students of all majors to attend the 2019 Financial Services Forum on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Zoellner Arts Center.

The full-day event runs from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and provides valuable opportunities for students interested in careers that focus on interpersonal skills, one-on-one client interaction, critical thinking, and independent work to connect with professionals in the financial services industry. Participants will learn about different career paths and job search techniques.

Presentations include an introduction to investment banking, geared toward undergraduates, as well as a Finance 101 overview. Interactive break-out sessions will cover sales and trading, wealth management, and FinTech, among other topics. A young alumni “ask anything” panel discussion will be followed by structured networking sessions.

The event features keynote speaker Jeff Frase '90, a business and economics alum, who spent 17 years as part of Goldman Sachs’ J. Aron Commodities division, departing in 2007 as Managing Director responsible for Global Crude Oil and Derivatives. Frase ran Global Oil at Lehman Brothers until 2008. From 2008 to 2013, he managed the Global Oil business at JPMorgan, leaving after JPMorgan exited physical commodities trading. He co-managed the Global Energy business for Noble Group from 2013 and was named president of the energy intensive Noble Americas in 2015. In 2016, Frase was named co-CEO of the publicly-traded Noble Group and held that role until he left the company with the asset divestitures of Noble Americas Corp in late 2017.

There is a $50 registration fee, which is refundable with attendance and completion of a survey. Participants are asked to register online by Sunday, October 13 (follow the link, search for the Wall Street Council Financial Services Forum on Handshake, and click "RSVP to Event"). Business professional attire is required.
