Technical Entrepreneurship alum Jessica Garcia ’12 ’13G was recognized with the Rising Safety Star Award at the 2024 International Safety Equipment Association Annual Meeting in Arlington, VA.

Garcia is founder of Tozuda, a producer of innovative, patented products, including reliable, cost-effective impact indicators for safety helmets that detect a wide range of impacts using non-electronic technology. 

"Standards for PPE are the backbone of the safety industry," said Garcia in a LinkedIn post. "They ensure that 125 million workers can step onto job sites with the confidence that they are protected from the exposures at hand to go home safely everyday. Contributing to this mission and working on new standard development alongside peers I deeply respect is both rewarding and inspiring."
