Mechanical engineering PhD candidate Bailey Brown '18 has been awarded a competitive Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) internship for the summer of 2022.
The NREIP program places college and university students in Department of Navy (DoN) laboratories, where they take part in real Naval research for 10 weeks during the summer. Interns are selected based upon academic achievement, personal statements, recommendations, and career and research interests.
Brown has been placed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD).
He earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh and is currently working in Professor Natasha Vermaak’s research group on tailoring topology optimization frameworks for specific additive manufacturing technologies.
