Congratulations to Haonan Song

Lehigh PhD Student Receives Best Presentation Award at IEEE APEC 2026

Bethlehem, PA — Lehigh's ECE PhD student Haonan Song has received a Best Presentation Award at the prestigious IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition 2026, one of the world’s largest conferences in power electronics.

Haonan was recognized for his presentation titled “High-Voltage Insulated Gate Driver Supply for Solid State Breaker Through Constant Voltage LCC-S Wireless Power Transfer”, delivered in the session “Wireless Power Transfer 2.” His work was selected for its outstanding technical quality and contribution among more than 570 paper presentations at the conference.

APEC 2026, held in San Antonio, brought together over 5,000 attendees from academia and industry worldwide. With an award rate of less than 10%, this recognition highlights the exceptional impact of Haonan’s research.

Haonan is advised by Dr. Fei Lu, Associate professor of ECE, whose research group focuses on advanced power electronics and energy conversion technologies. This achievement not only reflects Haonan’s dedication and innovation but also enhances ECE’s growing visibility in the global power electronics community.

“We are incredibly proud of Haonan’s accomplishment,” said Dr. Lu. “This award recognizes both the technical depth and real-world relevance of his work.”
