Lehigh’s Research Translation AcceLUrator helps researchers move promising discoveries toward practical applications

Lehigh University’s Research Translation AcceLUrator (RTA) is strengthening the pathways that help move academic research beyond the university and into real-world use.

Led by John Coulter, professor of mechanical engineering and mechanics and Lehigh’s associate vice provost for research translation, the university-wide initiative is supported in part by a $6 million National Science Foundation Accelerating Research Translation (ART) grant. The RTA provides researchers with mentorship, training and access to expertise that can help promising innovations reach broader audiences and applications.

A new video highlights the researchers, university leaders and external partners involved in that effort. Along with Coulter, it features Farrah Moazeni, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, and Michael Lehman, senior professor of practice in Technical Entrepreneurship, both in Lehigh’s P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science.

The video also highlights PEAK (Promoting Engagement with ADHD Pre-Kindergartners), an evidence-based behavioral parent training program developed by Lehigh researchers that is moving toward broader implementation through RTA support and a partnership with Scalable Care.
