Inês Seabra joined the Bioengineering Department at Lehigh University in August 2018.

Prior to that, Seabra was an Associate Professor at the College of Agriculture of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, Portugal, where she was part of the Food Science and Technology Department since 1998. Seabra spent the academic year of 2016-2017 at the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department of Rice University, Houston, as a Research Visiting Scholar.

Her research interests are focused on high pressure extraction from plant-based materials for the development of value-added products for agricultural and biomedical applications. Seabra is also interested in the encapsulation of those extracted compounds in nano/micro polymer particles for delivery purposes.
