George Witmer is a Professor of Practice with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science at Lehigh University. He is Co-Director for the Computer Science and Business (CSB) Program and manages the combined capstone program for CSB and CSE. He also teaches the required introductory programming class for the college.

Witmer earned a doctorate in Chemical Engineering at the University of Houston, an MBA at Lehigh University, and a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University.

Before joining the faculty at Lehigh, Witmer worked at Air Products, where he led IT Innovation, and prior to that, R&D Computing. He also worked at PPL and at Lutron as an Enterprise Architect.

He has several patents and has presented his work at numerous technical conferences.
