Aimane Najmeddine is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics at Lehigh University. His research lies at the intersection of solid mechanics, computational mechanics, architected materials, and advanced manufacturing. His group develops predictive physics-based computational frameworks to understand and design multifunctional architected composites with engineered interfaces, with applications in resilient infrastructure, energy, and aerospace.
His research integrates mechanics and multiphysics modeling to study the behavior of heterogeneous material systems and engineered interfaces. Current research interests include architected composites, multifunctional materials, multiscale and multiphysics modeling, fracture and failure, and additive manufacturing.
Prior to joining Lehigh, Dr. Najmeddine was an Associate Research Scholar at Princeton University. He received his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
