Gregory L. Tonkay serves as associate dean of undergraduate studies at the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science (RCEAS). Previously, he'd served as associate chair and associate professor of industrial and systems engineering.

Tonkay's research interests are in the area of integration and control of manufacturing systems, and he has developed control systems for both discrete parts systems and continuous systems. Further interests include manufacturing processes such as machining, abrasive water jet machining, and welding; data collection; and data processing. He teaches courses in industrial control systems, automation and production systems, and databases and networking.

With the Lehigh faculty since 1986, Greg has made active contributions to undergraduate studies as a faculty advisor, associate chair, and was regarded as a resident expert in various aspects of engineering curricula. He is recipient of numerous teaching awards from Lehigh, including the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching, and the RCEAS Teaching Excellence Award on three occassions. He's been an active member and chair of the RCEAS Academic Policy Committee (APC), and has served the director of the Manufacturing Technology Laboratory.
