Lehigh Engineering alum is Colgate-Palmolive's chief sustainability officer

Lehigh Engineering alum Ann Tracy '85 '86 '91G, Colgate-Palmolive's chief sustainability officer, was recently featured in Dartmouth College's Tuck Today magazine for her leadership in sustainability. Tracy has been a driving force behind the company’s push to address the problem of plastic waste and make toothpaste tubes recyclable by using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, a project that has spanned over a decade. Colgate has also shared this technology with competitors in an effort to reduce plastic waste industry-wide.

“The need for rigorous focus is just absolutely paramount in sustainability,” says Tracy, who has worked at Colgate for more than three decades.

Tracy holds a BA in applied science, a BS in mechanical engineering, and a master's in manufacturing systems, all from Lehigh University.
