Arindam Banerjee, professor and chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, has been invited to serve as a subject editor in the areas of ocean and wind energy for the Elsevier journal Renewable Energy, as of September 1, 2021.
Renewable Energy is an international, multi-disciplinary journal in renewable energy engineering and research. The journal aims to serve researchers, engineers, economists, manufacturers, NGOs, associations, and societies to help them keep abreast of new developments in their specialist fields and to apply alternative energy solutions to current practices.
Banerjee will join 12 other subject editors from around the world in handling the peer-review process for papers submitted to this high-impact international journal. The role also offers the opportunity to provide input and feedback that will contribute to the journal’s strategic planning.
Renewable Energy received nearly 7500 submissions in the year 2020 and has an Impact Factor of 8, thereby ranking it 16 out of 114 journals in energy and fuels.
“This is a great opportunity and honor for me personally to shepherd submissions in the areas of ocean and wind energy,” says Banerjee. “I look forward to further promoting both marine and offshore wind energy sectors in my role as a subject editor for this prestigious journal.”
