Judy Marks '84, who joined Siemens in 2011 as CEO of its government technologies subsidiary, will officially take over the role January 1, 2017.

Lehigh alumna Judy Marks '84 has been named CEO of Siemens' U.S. operations, effective January 1, 2017.

She succeeds Eric Spiegel, who will leave the company at the end of the year at age 59.

"Marks has a deep knowledge of Siemens' entire portfolio that will serve us well during this time of transition and into the future,” explained Lisa Davis, who was named Chair and CEO of Siemens Corporation, also effective at the start of 2017.

Marks joined Siemens in 2011 as President and CEO of company subsidiary Siemens Government Technologies, Inc., guiding its approach into the federal market. She was responsible for growing the newly formed U.S. business unit to provide a more comprehensive portfolio of solutions to the federal government from across its energy, industry, healthcare and future infrastructure & cities sectors.

In 2015, Marks was named Executive Vice President, Global Solutions, of Siemens' Dresser-Rand subsidiary, overseeing the the development and deployment of comprehensive global projects and programs to meet client needs and drive growth in the oil & gas industry.

She currently serves as Executive Vice President, New Equipment Solutions at Dresser-Rand, a position she will continue to hold while leading Siemens' U.S. operations.

Marks came to Siemens after 27 years with Lockheed Martin, serving as President of two operating divisions -- Transportation and Security Solutions, and Distribution Technologies -- with a focus on developing, integrating and delivering advanced solutions and services to federal customers worldwide. She also served as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for the company's Electronic Systems Business Area.

Marks earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, where she served as a member of the Employee Advisory Council for the Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science from 2006 to 2016.

She currently serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of Maryland's College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences; is a Board Director of the Siemens Foundation; and is a Director at Hubbell Incorporated.
