Expressing gratitude for a community of resolve and common purpose

A message to the Lehigh University community from the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science

As we reflect upon the challenges of 2020 and the hope that dawns with this particular new year, we take great pride in all members of our learning community who went to extraordinary lengths to keep our ship on course.

We marvel at the professors and instructors who transformed curricula on a dime, ensuring that remote teaching was truly remote learning.

We applaud the support staff who juggled family responsibilities, health issues, and personal struggles while soldiering on under the most trying of circumstances.

We salute the resolve of students preserving their dreams—toiling away in socially distant dorms, South Bethlehem apartments, and bedrooms and basements across the country and all over the world.

We thank the medical staff, campus police officers, food service workers, facilities personnel, and student support coordinators who showed us what "essential" truly means this year, often to the point of physical and emotional exhaustion.

At Lehigh, we stand for indomitable spirit, for an unceasing quest for knowledge, for something bigger than any one of us.

But most important of all, we stand together.

As you rest and recharge over the holidays and throughout the semester break, be safe, stay strong, wear a mask, and rejoice in better days to come.

HAIL. ALL HAIL.

LEHIGH.
