Industrial and systems engineering alum David Oring ’96 has been appointed manager of J4 Capital, an investment adviser that has developed AI investing software to predict market behavior for liquid exchange-traded securities.

Oring, who has 25 years of financial industry experience in wealth management operations, technology platform design and implementation, as well as managing both equities and options teams, previously served as the firm’s chief operating officer. In his new role,  Oring will lead the firm’s administrative and business capabilities to  the company's financial and technological goals.

Prior to this position, Oring was a managing partner in the launch of multiple successful businesses and was head trader overseeing the desks of both registered investment advisors and hedge funds. He was also a partner at Hollow Brook Wealth Management  for 12 years and a vice president at Ingalls & Snyder and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. 

In addition to his BS from Lehigh, Oring holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
