The Lehigh University community came together for the 2025 Faculty Appreciation Banquet to celebrate excellence in teaching, research, advising, and service across disciplines. The annual event recognized 18 faculty members for their contributions during the 2024–2025 academic year, honoring newly appointed professorships, long-service milestones, and award recipients.
Among the honorees were several faculty from the Rossin College:
- Paolo Bocchini, a professor of civil and environmental engineering, was named recipient of the Hillman Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising recognizing outstanding support for graduate students.
- Lesley Chow, an associate professor in bioengineering and materials science and engineering, was honored with the Inclusive Excellence Faculty Award for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence in research and practice.
- Lori Herz, a teaching full professor of bioengineering, received the Provost’s Award for Undergraduate Academic Advising for extraordinary contributions to undergraduate mentoring and advising.
- Javad Khazaei, an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, received the Alfred Noble Robinson Faculty Award for demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm for Lehigh’s mission.
- Steve McIntosh, a professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering and department chair, earned a Hillman Faculty Award for distinguished long-term service to the institution.
- Elsa Reichmanis, a professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering, received the Libsch Research Award recognizing excellence in research and scholarship, honoring sustained contributions that advance the frontiers of chemical engineering and materials science.
These recognitions reflect the wide impact of engineering faculty in areas that span student success, academic leadership, and inclusive excellence.
