Sabrina Jedlicka joined the Lehigh faculty in 2008. She’s an associate professor and the associate chair in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and also holds a joint appointment in the Department of Bioengineering. She was recently named the associate dean for academic affairs in the Rossin College, and will begin that role on July 1.
As associate dean, she’ll be responsible for running the college academic office, and coordinating all of the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. One initiative she’ll be working on is helping first-year students develop a plan for targeting classes outside their chosen major. Classes that will, she says, “help them build a more multifaceted view of the world, and become more interdisciplinary thinkers.” She’ll also use her position to work closely with professional societies and groups on campus to make the field of engineering more inclusive.
