Junior engineering major and midfielder Adrian Vitello grabs Patriot League honors as LU Women's soccer moves to 6-0-1 to start the season.

At 6-0-1, the Lehigh Women's Soccer team is off to one of it's best starts in over a decade, remaining the only team in the country that has yet to give up a goal this season.

Part of that can be attributed to the play of bioengineering major and defensive midfielder Adrian Vitello.

The junior scored her second goal of the season in their win over Villanova, and earned Patriot League "Midfielder of the Week" honors. Vitello and the Lehigh defense held Marist to just four shots on goal in their 3-0 win over the host Mountaineers, and just one shot on goal at home to Marist in another 3-0 victory.

The Manalapan, New Jersey native came to Lehigh for it's "perfect balance between great education and a competitive soccer program," and chose bioengineering because of her "great interest in the fields of math and science. I believe [bioengineering] will meet the needs of the challenging academic atmosphere that I want."

Vitello is one of five bioengineering majors on the team, including junior defender Amanda Stratton, sophomore goalkeeper Kylie Ginsberg and sophomore defenders Ashley Maziarzand Clare Severe.

Vitello and the women's team will look to stay undefeated when they host Temple University on Tuesday.
