Electrical engineering alum has more than 25 years of consulting, industry experience

Electrical and computer engineering alum Christopher Kulp ’93 has been appointed managing director of procurement and sourcing for the private equity services group of consulting company Alvarez & Marsal.

Kulp is an advisory and management consulting expert with more than 25 years of consulting and industry experience. He previously served in leadership positions for companies such as PwC, where he led the development of procurement and sourcing offerings for insurance, banking, business services, and other high-growth service industries. 

According to a press release, Kulp is recognized for his expertise in direct and indirect sourcing, category management, procurement optimization, make/buy strategies, working capital improvement, aftermarket/warranty optimization and broader operational improvement.

“Chris has an eye for how to drive commercial and operational efficiency forward that will help our clients navigate their procurement challenges in support of value creation,” says Markus Lahrkamp, managing director with A&M’s private equity performance improvement practice.

Before beginning his career in consulting, Kulp was as a senior engineering lead for Motorola, where he was involved with product development and operations. 

Kulp received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and engineering physics from Lehigh and later earned an MBA in finance and operations from the University of Chicago.
