Professor Anand Ramamurthi discussed elastic matrix regenerative repair, including its significance and application in tissue regeneration, and gave advice for aspiring STEM professionals in a recent episode of the Teen Scientist episode, produced by Lehigh Valley Public Radio (WDIY).

The chair of the Department of Bioengineering explained his minimally invasive procedures as a safer alternative for tissue regeneration for patients who do not have the option of surgery.

Ramamurthi’s research projects span biomaterials, nanomedicine, and stem cell-based strategies for growing elastic tissue constructs on demand or enabling biomimetic tissue repair in vivo

When asked to share advice for young aspiring scientists, Ramamurthi said, “Be aware of what is going on in the research field and go work in a lab early.”
