Meet Diego González-Casamachin who started in August 2022 with Lehigh University's ChBE Department as a Postdoc.

Diego graduated from Universidad del Valle (Cali-Colombia) with a BS in Chemical Engineering, while his Masters and PhD programs focused on Sustainable Processes at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León (Monterrey-México). Diego performs research in the areas of Catalysis, Photocatalysis, and Electrochemistry. He is interested in the design and synthesis of novel materials used as catalysts to develop technologies that will become the backbone of a sustainable alternative to the petrochemical cycle. Currently, Diego is carrying out a Dry Reforming of Methane (DMR) reaction using a Plasma reactor under the direct supervision of ChBE Professor Jonas Baltrusaitis who will lead monthly evaluations of his performance.

Diego is excited to explore the U.S., Bethlehem, and the Lehigh Valley amongst the research and educational missions of the ChBE department at Lehigh.
