Marks named President of Otis

EE alumna tapped to lead people-moving innovator
 
Judy Marks '84 has been named president of Otis, the world's leading manufacturer and service provider of elevators, escalators and moving walkways. The 66,000 employees of Otis, a unit of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) with annual revenues approaching $12 billion, serve more than 200 countries and territories and have sold and maintain approximately 2.6 million elevators and escalators worldwide.

Ahmed Banafa '93G was interviewed by ABC television for his expertise on the Internet of Things (IoT) to kick off their coverage of the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
 
"This is the wave of the future," Banafa said during the interview. "Everything is listening and reacting to what you're doing. By the end of 2020 we will have 50 billion connected devices."
