Should I major in environmental engineering?
- You care deeply about protecting the quality of human health and the environment.
- You are interested in using chemistry and biology to create engineered solutions that improve the quality of soil, water, and air and to minimize the impact of human activities on the environment.
- You're committed to building a more sustainable world.
Lehigh’s environmental engineering program gives students a foundation in scientific and engineering principles on the causes, control, and prevention of environmental issues and trains them to create solutions that improve the quality of human life and the environment. Environmental engineering students study fundamental principles in chemistry, microbiology, mathematics, engineering, environmental science, hydraulics, hydrology, industrial ecology, and systems design, and they apply these principles to solve pressing environmental issues facing society, both in the natural and built environments.
