The Lehigh University sections of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and Alpha Omega Epsilon will host the seventh annual Women and Non-Binary in STEM Dinner on Wednesday, March 20. The event, which is open to attendees of all genders, will take place from 5-8 p.m. in Iacocca Hall’s Wood Dining Room, on the Mountaintop Campus.
Tickets, which are $5 for students and $10 for faculty and engineering professionals, can be purchased online through March 15.
This dinner is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, and engineering professionals “to have fruitful discussions about overcoming challenges associated with being an underrepresented gender in STEM,” says SWE President Lauren Fountain ’24.
The event includes an opportunity for casual networking and discussion; a catered, buffet-style dinner; and a keynote speech by mechanical engineering alum Valentina Baio ’09 ’11G, vice president of engineering at United Safety & Survivability Corporation. Attendees will receive a swag bag.
In case of snow/inclement weather, the event would be rescheduled to Wednesday, March 27. See the event registration page for more information.
