Graduates will hear from NAE member Scott Willoughby ’89 and entrepreneur Stephen S. Tang ’85G ’88 PhD ’22P

Two distinguished Lehigh Engineering alums will address graduates during the university’s 156th Spring Commencement Weekend, May 18-19. 

Electrical engineering alum and National Academy of Engineering member Scott Willoughby ’89 will speak at the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on May 19. A leader in Northrop Grumman's space systems sector, Willoughby previously led NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope program at Northrop Grumman. The Webb Telescope is in orbit, discovering new celestial bodies and recording vital information about the universe.

Chemical engineering alum and entrepreneur Stephen S. Tang ’85G ’88 PhD ’22P will speak at the Graduate Commencement and Doctoral Hooding Ceremony. A life services industry veteran, author and corporate advisor, Tang led Orasure Technologies, Inc., during the COVID-19 pandemic. He oversaw the development of at-home test kits that helped bring the pandemic to an end.
