Laura Moyer is a Teaching Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Lehigh University, where she also earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in MSE. Prior to rejoining the Lehigh community in 2013, Laura spent eight years at Alcoa in the superalloy sector, serving as Technical Services Manager and Chief Metallurgist. At Lehigh, she is focused on hands-on education in metallurgy, microscopy, characterization, mechanical testing, failure analysis, and blacksmithing. She also directs Lehigh's Summer Engineering Institute, where high school students explore college STEM paths and the ASM Student and Teacher Materials Camps.
