Dr. Karmel S. Shehadeh is an Assistant Professor at Lehigh University's Department of Industrial Systems and Engineering.
Karmel Shehadeh joined the ISE department as an Assistant Professor in August 2020. Previously, Professor Shehadeh was a Presidential and Dean Postdoctoral Fellow at Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Professor Shehadeh is Heinz Dean Postdoctoral Emeritus. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, M.S. in Systems Science and Industrial Engineering from Binghamton University, and B.S.E in Biomedical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology.
Professor Shehadeh's broad methodological research expertise and interests include optimization under uncertainty, (mixed) integer programming, and scheduling theory and algorithms development. Her primary application areas and expertise are in healthcare operations and analytics. She is also interested in operations research applications to facility location and transportation systems.
