Post-Docs
Federico Battista is a postdoctoral researcher at Lehigh University's Department of Industrial and System Engineering (ISE). He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of Rome "Sapienza". He earned his M.S. and B.S. in Computer Science from the University of L'Aquila (Italy). He is a member of the Computational Optimization Research at the Lehigh (COR@L) group.
His research interests are in Mixed-Integer Bilevel Optimization (MIBLP) algorithms and software development, as well as Semidefinite Programming (SDP) algorithms and their application in Combinatorial Optimization.
Trang H. Tran was born in 1997. She grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam, and attended the High School for Gifted Students, University of Science, Vietnam National University. Trang earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Education from Hanoi National University of Education in 2019. After a year of graduate studies at the Institute of Mathematics in Vietnam, she began her Ph.D. in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University in August 2020.
During her doctoral studies, Trang was advised by Prof. Katya Scheinberg and Dr. Lam M. Nguyen. She has completed research internships at IBM Research (Thomas J. Watson Research Center) and ADAPT Community Network (New York City), focusing on optimization and machine learning. Upon completing her Ph.D., Trang has joined the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University as a postdoctoral researcher.
