Post-Docs
Federico Battista is a postdoctoral researcher at Lehigh University's Department of Industrial and System Engineering (ISE). He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of Rome "Sapienza". He earned his M.S. and B.S. in Computer Science from the University of L'Aquila (Italy). He is a member of the Computational Optimization Research at the Lehigh (COR@L) group.
His research interests are in Mixed-Integer Bilevel Optimization (MIBLP) algorithms and software development, as well as Semidefinite Programming (SDP) algorithms and their application in Combinatorial Optimization.
Mohammadhossein Mohammadisiahroudi is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Lehigh University, working in the Quantum Computing and Optimization Lab. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Lehigh University in August 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Tamás Terlaky. Before joining Lehigh, he earned his master's degree from Sharif University of Technology and his bachelor's degree from Iran University of Science and Technology, both in Industrial Engineering. His research focuses on developing, analyzing, and implementing efficient quantum and classical algorithms for solving large-scale optimization problems, particularly conic and linear optimization. His work has been recognized with the 2023 INFORMS Computing Society Best Student Paper Prize (runner-up) and the 2023 Van Hoesen Family Best Publication Award.
Trang H. Tran was born in 1997. She grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam, and attended the High School for Gifted Students, University of Science, Vietnam National University. Trang earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Education from Hanoi National University of Education in 2019. After a year of graduate studies at the Institute of Mathematics in Vietnam, she began her Ph.D. in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University in August 2020.
During her doctoral studies, Trang has been fortunate to be advised by Prof. Katya Scheinberg and Dr. Lam M. Nguyen. She has completed research internships at IBM Research (Thomas J. Watson Research Center) and ADAPT Community Network (New York City), focusing on optimization and machine learning. Upon completing her Ph.D., Trang will join the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University as a postdoctoral researcher.
