To Isabella Federico ’24, the path of an engineer isn’t necessarily clear-cut, but the end goal is certain.

“You’re applying everything that you discover in science or technology to human causes,” she says. “Engineers integrate different fields of interest into something that leads towards benefiting humanity.”

Hands-on learning leads the way to SpaceX

Prince Sharma: Seeing the wider picture

Borides are compounds composed of boron and one other element. They are known for being extremely hard, and as such, researchers believed that mixing four or more metals in the boride system—to create what are known as high-entropy borides—would yield even harder materials. Such materials could have potential applications in both military and space aircraft.

Richards '26 & Rossini '26: Dare to Lead at GE

GE Gas Power/GE Renewable Energy presented their 2nd Dare to Lead event this summer, which is a 2-day Women’s Leadership Conference designed to help underrepresented female students of color unlock their career possibilities and embrace their space as a leader. In this high-energy event, students gain access to interactive sessions, cross-functional collaboration, individual coaching, and even have an opportunity to interview for 2024 internships.
