Profile

Dr. Karmel S. Shehadeh is an Assistant Professor at Lehigh University's Department of Industrial Systems and Engineering.
 
Karmel Shehadeh joined the ISE department as an Assistant Professor in August 2020. Previously, Professor Shehadeh was a Presidential and Dean Postdoctoral Fellow at Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Professor Shehadeh is Heinz Dean Postdoctoral Emeritus. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, M.S. in Systems Science and Industrial Engineering from Binghamton University, and B.S.E in Biomedical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology. 
 
Professor Shehadeh's broad methodological research expertise and interests include scheduling theory and algorithms development, optimization under uncertainty, and (mixed) integer programming. Her primary application areas and expertise are in healthcare operations and analytics. She is also interested in operations research applications to service and transportation systems and facility locations. 
 
Professor Shehadeh is always looking for talented and enthusiastic students to work with and mentor. Professor Shehadeh is dedicating her career and accomplishments to every little dreamer in the world who has a dream so big and so exciting.
