Elsa Reichmanis, Professor and Carl Robert Anderson Chair in Chemical Engineering at Lehigh University, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), in recognition of significant professional accomplishments and contributions in engineering.

Terry Hart '68, '88H, is a Lehigh alum and a professor of practice in mechanical engineering and mechanics. He's also a former telecommunications executive, fighter pilot, and astronaut. In recognition of their enduring commitment to the university community in the 2019-2020 academic year, Lehigh has awarded its most prestigious honors, the Lehigh University Awards, to 19 members of its faculty and staff, including four faculty members in the Rossin College.
Metastasis―the development of tumor growth at a secondary site―is responsible for the majority of cancer-related deaths. It occurs when the primary tumor site sheds cancerous cells which are then circulated through the body via blood vessels or lymph nodes. These become seeds for eventual tumor growth at a secondary location in the body.
Dan M. Frangopol, the inaugural Fazlur R. Khan Endowed Chair of Structural Engineering and Architecture at Lehigh University, has been elected to the Engineering Academy of Japan (EAJ) as a foreign associate.
EAJ comprises “leading experts from academia, industry, and government institutions who possess a wide range of knowledge and have made outstanding contributions in engineering and technological sciences, and closely related fields,” according to the academy’s website.
“We have a long way to go in terms of inclusivity of women in our engineering departments across the country,” says Christina Haden, a professor of practice in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics.
