Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Alpha Omega Epsilon (A.O.E.), and Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) are partnering to host the fourth annual Women in STEM dinner on Thursday, October 22, beginning at 5:30 pm. The event, which will be held virtually this year, serves to encourage discussion about what it means to be a minority in STEM. Students, faculty, and STEM professionals are invited to attend.
Group discussions in small breakout rooms will kick-off festivities as an opportunity for participants to make new connections. The keynote speaker is SaLisa Berrien, founder and CEO of COI Energy. Berrien is a supporter of the Bethlthem community and is founder and board chair of STRIVE Inc. a local charitable organization that focuses on STEM leadership development training for students in 3rd through 12th grades.
The university is currently celebrating the women of Lehigh and 50 years of coeducation. Organizers of the Women in STEM dinner hope to not only celebrate this milestone, but also continue to work toward a more inclusive campus and professional environment.
