Applying data skills to biomedical image analysis

Abhishek Srivastava '23 was drawn to Lehigh's MS in Data Science program, in part, because it offers courses in computer vision and biomedical image analysis. "Those courses are completely aligned with what I do," says Srivastava, who is now a senior data scientist at Sophia Genetics, "and what I want to do in the future, which is to use data science for personalized care."

BioE Student Spotlight: Peter Jensen

“Why are you earning a master’s degree?” The reason is due to the flexibility of the M.S. Bioengineering program. The faculty have worked with me on creating a clinically relevant curriculum within the field of bioengineering. The program has also provided me with the opportunity to conduct tissue engineering research in an academic lab. The ability of the program to cater to my own professional goals has provided me with the platform to grow as a student and professional".

Li wins second place at AIChE poster competition

His poster was entitled "A DFT-based microkinetic modeling study to elucidate the role of direct hydrogen transfer in transfer hydrogenation on transition metal catalysts". Li presented his computational research on mechanistic understanding of catalytic transfer hydrogenation, a catalytic technology that can enable sustainable and decarbonized hydrogenation of biomass to value-added chemicals.

BioE Student Spotlight: Seonghan Kim

All faculty and staff members that I have interacted with are very kind, warm, and helpful. I was at another institution for a while and therefore I can tell that this is an unusual environment (in a good way). Dr. Susan and the department subcommittee were very supportive and informative when I had to change the visa and also to defer the admission. Catalysis Club of Philadelphia poster competition, awardee Rzepa

The Catalysis Club of Philadelphia’s (CCP) Annual Student Poster Session was held on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022, at the Inn at Villanova University, where Christopher Rzepa, ChBE's John C. Chen Endowed Fellow, and Ph.D. Candidate, was named runner up as the Best Poster for his research titled: "Developing data-driven structure-entropy relations for host-guest interactions in siliceous zeolites". Rzepa is mentored by Prof. Srinivas Rangarajan of Lehigh University and Prof. Jeetain Mittal of Texas A&M University.
