PA Veterinary Medical Association taps EE alum Malesic '91 as executive director

Electrical engineering alum Christian D. Malesic '91, of Harrisburg, Pa., has been hired as the new executive director of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PMVA), the state's only professional membership organization for the veterinary profession. PMVA represents 3,400 veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians, assistants, practice managers, and other support staff.

Yaszemski '77 '78G joins BioBridge Global's Regenerative Medicine Advisory Board

Chemical engineering alum Michael J. Yaszemski '77 '78G has been named to the Regenerative Medicine Advisory Board of BioBridge Global, which provides a range of products and services in regenerative medicine, including human cells and tissue, testing, and biomanufacturing and clinical services, through its three operating entities: GenCure, QualTex Laboratories and the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center.

Kim Bozzella '89 joins global consulting firm Protiviti

Industrial engineering alum Kim Bozzella '89 has joined global consulting firm Protiviti as a managing director and leader of technology consulting for the financial services industry. Based in the firm's New York City office, Bozzella also leads the firm's Technology Strategy and Operations practice. She brings more than 25 years of deep financial services sector experience, including managing large global organizations and implementing multi-phased programs across IT management, operational risk management, business transformation and organizational design.

ECE alum named to endowed professorship at UT Dallas

Electrical engineering alumnus Leonidas Bleris ’02G ’06 PhD, an associate professor of bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas’ Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, was named a Cecil H. and Ida Green Professor in Systems Biology Science in spring 2018.

This endowed professorship was set up by the estate of Cecil Green, a founder of Texas Instruments, to support integrated interdisciplinary biomedical research.
