Yarnold '03 '05G honored with Early Career Faculty Award for steel research, teaching

Civil engineering alum Dr. Matthew Yarnold '03 '05G has been honored by the American Institute of Steel Construction with the 2019 AISC Early Career Faculty Award, which is given to individuals who demonstrate promise in the areas of structural steel research and teaching, and other contributions to the structural steel industry.

Yarnold is an assistant professor in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University and an assistant research scientist at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute.

Sandy Stelling ’91 leads 'gold standard' merger for Alaska Airlines

Airline industry veteran Sandy Stelling ’91 is being credited with leading the “gold standard” of airline mergers. Stelling, who studied mechanical engineering at Lehigh University and later worked on the team that designed the Boeing 777, is managing director of process engineering for Alaska Airlines, which acquired Virgin America in 2016 and completed the complex integration in April 2018.
