Dr. Wilson's research interests are applied stochastic processes, optimization modeling, production planning and control, modeling and analysis of logistic systems. Specifically, he studies queuing processes, hierarchical approximation of systems, and optimal control. He also researches the design and control of agile manufacturing and service-based systems.

Dr. Wilson teaches courses in production and inventory control, operations research, nonlinear optimization techniques, stochastic processes, scheduling, and dynamic programming. He is a member of INFORMS, and the American Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.
